I have been dating a hockey player for a little over two years now, and it definitely has its perks.

When we were still in high school, my boyfriend played for the Crown Point Bulldogs. We may have gone to the same three cities for all of the roadies, but I always saw new things, ate at new places, and met different people. Hockey moms are the craziest women you will ever meet.

Most of our tournaments were either in Fort Wayne, South Bend, or Indianapolis. We got to stay in a hotel with all of our friends, staying up late (even though the boys were supposed to go to bed early,) the team dinners, and the bonding. The roadies may have been expensive, but it was always well worth it. But they are also some of the best people you will ever meet.

They were undefeated in the semi-finals, and I have never seen a team celebrate the way they did.

They all threw off their helmets and gloves and were hugging and crying on the ice.
